Närmast vinner is a geography quiz game where whoever guesses closest to the right place wins the round.
Who is behind the site?
The site is built and run by Bengt Ellison as a private individual. There is no company behind it – just a big interest in maps, quizzes and building things.
Why did I build it?
The most fun part of the Swedish TV show På spåret is the "closest wins" round. For years I felt I should build it myself – and when it suddenly became easy to do, there was not much to wait for.
The project has also been a way to learn more about building with AI tools. It has been both fun and educational.
